wee wednesday: a central oregon hike
Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 2:52PM it is no secret, our move to bend form portland has been a tough one. i do miss my city so. however, it is undeniable that central oregon has its lovely qualities. the ones that stick out, of course, are the beautiful outdoor surroundings and neverending sunshine. on the days that my homesickness seems overwhelming, we turn to the outdoors. we have actually decided that on weekends there is no time for indoor sulking...we are going to get outside and enjoy one of the things that drew us to this place...so there you have it. these photos are from our most recent excursion...
time will only tell where the frenches end up, but in the mean time making a few winter memories doesn't exactly hurt. xo mrs. french

I guess I could take a cue from you, seeing how I've been so miserable in PDX after trying to get here for so long. I guess I should get out there and remember why I moved here.
I can never show these to my husband. He would have us in the car by the a.m.

i also won't show to my husband as this is his homeland and HE will be homesick. We do the same thing here in Switzerland. It can be wonderful but it isn't home; nature therapy is the BEST!

I know the feeling! We moved back to Wisconsin from Portland to be closer to our family when we started our own little family, but I don't think there is a day that goes by that I don't long to be back in Portland....
I am glad we are near family now, but Portland will always have a special place in my heart.
As you said, I realized I needed to get over it and not to put my life on hold thinking of what might be or what I can change and just enjoy where I am. There is beauty everywhere.
